pLaYfuL PiEceS Card

I am posting to my blog!  Must mean the kids are busy!  I really like how this card turned out.  There are so many ways to use the Playful Pieces stamp set - almost too many.  It is hard to know where to start.  This card also could be done just by piecing some paper scraps together for the purses, but I think the handle is so cute and it comes in the stamp set.

I also used the Movers and Shapers die for the center cutout.  I LOVE that cutout but rarely come up with ideas on how to use it.  I think this one is a keeper.  It can be used like this with many different types of cards.  The Perfect Punch "my Friend" sentiment is mounted on the outside of the card.  The front of the card (black layer) is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals to give it some depth.  It would have been fairly easy to put the sentiment on the inside of the card too.

Supplies (all SU!):
Stamp Sets:  Playful Pieces, and Perfect Punches
Paper/Ink: Real Read, Basic Black (spritzed with vanilla smooch spritz)
Accessories: Movers and Shapers with curly label die, Curly label punch, Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plate,  Scallop Trim border punch,Basic Rhinestones.

Mojo Monday #132: Black Magic and Emboss Resist

I decided to try the Black Magic technique combined with the Emboss Resist technique. I had to find a stamp image that would normally be black since I wanted to use VersaMark and clear embossing powder. I easily cam up with stamped image and coloring, but it took me awhile to be happy with the background papers. I think that it is one of my favorite cards.

I used Chic Botique stamp set stamped in VersaMark, embossed in clear Stampin' Emboss, then colored with Stampin' Pastels. Night and Day DSP (retired), Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock. All products are Stampin' Up! except for the ribbon.

This is for Mojo Monday #128. I started with a completely different stamp set, but saw this little martian and thought how cute it would be with some lips and a necklace! The colors I used were inspired by the Pink Flamingo DSP - perfect for a girly martian. I also spritzed the surface of the card with a glitter spray. You can kind of see it in the image below.

Mojo Monday #109

Here is my card for Mojo Monday #109. I will be glad when it takes me a little less time to come up with and execute a card! It took me all morning to make this, but it was a lot of fun and I know now what doesn't work on this card! :-) I also realized after I taped everything down that I should have matted the front of the card. Oh well! I will get the hang of it soon.

I wanted to make the card like something I might have found in my grandmother's things, pretty and well used. I also love this stamp set (SU Chic Boutique), but I have found that it can be difficult to use. The Eiffel Tower requires a large rectangle to hold it, and the dress form does not fill up a card enough. I think that stamping the tower on printed paper helps fill up some of the white space.
Here are the materials I used: Stamps: SU Chic Boutique Paper: Basic Grey Nook and Pantry (LOVE this!), SU Garden Green Other: Brown string from Archivers, Gold Shimmer Spray.

Here is the Mojo Layout for this week:

Pony Party Card

This card was done for the Mojo Monday Week 104 challenge http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ . I had so much fun making this card. Unicorn Card would probably be a better title, but I like to put the stamp set name in the title. I will be back to post the details of the card later since I have to run now.

Soft Summer Card

My first card post! Yay! This is a card that I made for a dear friend on her birthday. I colored directly on the stamp with my watercolor crayons, then I sprayed water on it before I stamped it onto watercolor paper. A technique I learned from Jen, my SU demonstrator and friend. Thanks Jen! This is a two step stamp and I only used the first step stamp. I trimmed out the image and used some dimensionals to pop up the image. I also added a rectangle of Chocolate Chip CS to the inside of the card just past the scallop edge to add some contrast.

All supplies are Stampin Up! Soft Summer stamp set from last Spring's Mini. Pink Pirouette Scalloped Note, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White cardstock.
